How to be an Interactive Scriptwriter
Tuesday 17th November
7.30pm-9.30pm
The Dukes Lancaster www.dukes-lancaster.org
Do you want to write for computer games or the web?
NFN & Signal Films have two fantastic speakers lined up to talk you about their experience of writing for computer games and interactive formats. As film gets more interactive and the way in which people consume it changes, it is important to look at how we can adapt our skills to the new opportunities that arise from the digital era.
The two speakers we have are:
Richard Davis, ‘Webby’ winner, who will be talking about his experience of writing webisodes and for the internet. Richard created Crimeface, an online interactive video drama made in Manchester. Crimeface is a new media project that combines several formats (film, literature, music and gaming) in an episodic hyper-narrative backed by reams of interactive material. The multiplatform project has had numerous international film festival screenings.
Richard Boon, from International Hobo, who will share his thoughts on the Do’s and Don’ts for writing for games. International Hobo is an alliance of the best creative talent in the videogames industry and is one of world’s most successful game design, narrative design and scriptwriting consultancies.
There will also be a Q&A and time to network whilst enjoying a drink!
