Hi all you Friends of Potfest.
If you came to the Park this year, glad you could make it and thanks for braving what might have been a very wet weekend.
If you couldn’t get there, get a flavour of what you missed with this year’s slide show www.potfest.co.uk/parkSLIDES09/parkSLIDES09.html and the page showing the competition winners www.potfest.co.uk/parkreview09.htm
Don’t forget that Potfest in the Pens starts this Friday at Skirsgill mart off junction 40 of the M6. This is a chance to get a little more involved with free throwing classes for adults and bridge building workshops for kids [of all ages]. To see who will be there this weekend see www.potfest.co.uk/penslist.html
Many thanks for your support in the past. Hope to see you at Potfest in the future.

Just thought I’d point out that for me Potfest in the Pens is the most important ceramics event in the UK.
The Park is the flagship bringing the best in Europe to show their work in Cumbria but the Pens is the only show in the UK actively encouraging more people to get involved in working with clay. It’s also unselected allowing anyone working in ceramics to show their work to the public. Everyone has to start somewhere to improve and the Pens started the career of many who have gone on to international recognition. I think that Potfest in the Pens is something Penrith should be proud of; the first potters’ market ever held in the UK and the only one to offer an equal chance to everyone no matter what stage they are in their career.
