NEW WRITING CUMBRIA

If you’re a writer and live in Cumbria – whether you’re a published author, a secret scribbler, a poetry slam fan or just dipping your toe in the water of getting your writing out to an audience – then you’re in luck. Eden Arts has a long track record in delivering services for writers across the county, although latterly that’s just been via the e-Update email newsletters. Now we’re set to widen opportunities for writers, thanks to Northern Rock Foundation, who have given us a year’s funding to expand our services.

Over the next few months we’ll be developing a dedicated New Writing Cumbria website, with lots of information and advice – everything from details of agents and publishers, advice on editing, how to set up a writing group etc – as well as literature news, competitions, events listings and hopefully a writers’ blog and opportunities for e-publishing.

There’ll also be a pilot writing project relating to the landscape, working with communities and organisations across the county – more details later.

The website is now online although is being continually developed, visit it at www.newwritingcumbria.org.uk and give us your feedback!

  1. Hi

I am on your mailing list. However, you used to send me venues and times when the Penrith writing club was going to meet. I no longer get these. I am interested in going along to these meetings if they still exist so could you please let me have a programme.
