CANOPY Tree Art Exhibition Opens
The first of our CANOPY artworks are now on display at National Trust property Acorn Bank and Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens. As part of the CANOPY art project a series of artworks are being installed in trees and woodland across the Eden Valley in Cumbria throughout 2013, creating a ‘natural gallery’. Carlisle and Eden Mind Growing Voices project Artist/Maker brief Design and construct a ‘tree’ structure for use by Carlisle and Eden Mind (CEM) as a touring engagement tool. Fee: £3000 Budget: £7000 SUMMARY Carlisle and Eden Mind in association with Eden Arts wish to commission a large, arresting and movable tree themed shelter for CEM’s ‘GROWING VOICES’ project. CANOPY tree art project launched
We have launched CANOPY – an exciting new visual art project for 2013! The project will result in a spring/summer exhibition of artworks displayed in trees and woodland throughout the Eden Valley in Cumbria – a natural gallery. We are inviting schools, groups and individuals to get involved in the project by making artworks, absolutely anyone can take part! The Canopy exhibition will feature specially commissioned work by Liverpool Art Prize winner Robyn Woolston. Aardman re-launch Eden Arts’ Flock project
The Shaun the Sheep PomPom Parade is a baa-rilliant new people’s project to raise awareness and support for His Royal Highness Prince Charles’ Campaign for Wool in which anyone and everyone can participate. The project is a collaborative effort between leading wool interiors retailer The Wool Room, Aardman’s woolly ambassador Shaun the Sheep and Eden Arts brilliant Join the Flock project of 2012. C-Art 2013 launched for another year
After a second hugely productive year in which 134 artists and independent galleries opened their studios to 11,500 visitors generating in excess of £76,000 in sales, planning is already in place for C-Art 2013 to highlight the best Cumbrian visual and applied arts in another two-week event this September. HELP! we need space!!
We seem to have been doing some bulky things of late (accumulating 5500 pom-pom sheep in 15 boxes, building giant lanterns etc), so we desperately need somewhere to put them. An empty shop or lock-up or such like would be ideal. We would rather not pay too much for it and would prefer to come to an arrangement with a premises owner for use of somewhere hard to let (we get rate relief as a charity). our need is great and immediate! anyone know of anywhere??
Penrith’s Winter Droving event gains momentum
Plans for Penrith’s new Winter Droving event, which will take place on Saturday 24th November are coming together as community groups, artists and businesses join forces to develop a new signature event for the town. Eden Arts, who are producing the Winter Droving event put out a call recently for artists, musicians, community groups and schools to come together to join in with the event taking place in Penrith. The Winter Droving will celebrate Penrith’s rich agricultural heritage and marks the beginning of Christmas festivities in the town. The Big Draw Comes to Penrith
The Big Draw is the world’s biggest celebration of drawing. It has grown into a month-long festival running throughout October all over the UK. Every year more people across the world join in Big Draw events and engage in creative activities.
