Eden Arts wishes to work with artists and groups in order to promote the arts and use of the arts in Eden District. Our aim is to increase participation and engagement in the arts – please note this is different from simple ‘observation of the arts’. We receive support from Eden District Council and the Arts Council and we are therefore obliged to meet their expectations with regard to encouraging participation, engagement, innovation, excellence and diversity.

What this means is that those wishing to seek our financial support must consider and show how they are increasing wider engagement eg through offering workshops, working with schools; or innovating – working in new ways (note: innovation is a successful practice not just simple experimentation).
