Picnic Cinema is a unique series of outdoor cinema events featuring classic films, live music and everyone having a big picnic. These special events include Tosca, a filmed Royal Opera House production at Hutton-in-the-Forest, jazz (and cross-dressing!) at Greystoke Castle with the classic Marilyn Munroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis film Some Like it Hot , the evening also featuring the brilliant jazz ensemble Hotter than That. For those who are fans of the big musicals, there will be screenings at Brockhole Visitors Centre on the shores of Windermere of Grease, (plus live rock n’ roll from Eddie Robbins and the Sunbeams) and three weeks later Mamma Mia! Deep in Grizedale Forest you will find The Blair Witch Project and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
