Prism Arts is an organisation which exists to support and enable excluded groups in Cumbria to realise their creative potential and celebrate their experience through active participation in the exploration
of the arts.

In the coming months, Prism Arts are aiming to establish an artist led steering group to be actively involved in the work the organisation does. They are very keen to reach artists involved, or interested in Disability and Deaf arts or artists involved in working with excluded groups. The organisation has many plans for the future, including supporting an artist mentoring scheme, promoting disability arts in Cumbria and the regular issuing of an arts magazine/newsletter which would be published online and hopefully could also be issued as a podcast. To run this the organisation would like to set up an editorial group of artists.

On November 28th 2009 Prism Arts are holding a live debate with disability artists in Liverpool as
part of DADA Fest 09 (a celebration of Disability and Deaf arts held annually in Liverpool).
It is hoped Cumbrian artists can contribute to, and attend this event. More details will
follow.
