Beth & Flo Piano Duo

October brings Beth & Flo to Appleby -to start the new North Westmorland Arts season - with an exciting programme including the intensely romantic Six Pieces op.11 by Rachmaninov, swinging and rhythmical music by Dutch composer Ruben Naeff and the fun and vivid ‘Carnaval des Animaux’ by Saint-Saëns.

Attard-Zerafa duo – Saxophone and Piano (North Westmorland Arts concert)

The London-based Attard-Zerafa saxophone and piano duo hails from the Maltese Islands and was formed in 2011 by Gozitan saxophonist Philip Attard and Maltese pianist Christine Zerafa.

Parti Cut Lloi – Welsh Male Voice Choir (North Westmorland Arts concert)

A male party formed and directed by folk singer – harpist Sian James, Parti Cut Lloi (“the calf shed party”) are now firm favourites on the eisteddfod, festival and concert stage. Their robust style owes a lot to the unaccompanied close-harmony “plygain” tradition which is still strong in the part of Eastern Montgomeryshire to which they belong.

Chavasse Piano Trio (North Westmorland Arts concert)

The Chavasse Piano Trio was founded in Oxford 2016 by then Oxford students Elizabeth Nurse (violin), George Needham (Piano), and Joe Davies (Cello). 'Chavasse' comes from the name of the founder of St Peter's College, where the trio held their first concert. Since then, they have gone on to perform in numerous venues across the South East, and were also invited to perform for the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
