Legal Alien is an experimental film event that tells a love story between two aliens.

Following the journey of two extraterrestrials who have been exiled from their home planet, Legal Alien stars Spanish comedian and actor Eduard Arnalot, known globally for his solo performances as well as his work with renowned theatre companies. His female counterpart is portrayed by Aisha Embalo, a Middlesbrough-based actor and model originally from Guinea-Bissau.

In the wake of recent events across the UK, particularly in the North East, Cumbria-based arts organisation Eden Arts and Barcelona-based cinema collective NCNC (Nuovo Cinema Neo Cinetico) have worked closely with asylum and refugee communities in Middlesbrough, bringing people together to celebrate and learn from their shared heritage through the creation of an experimental film.

The resulting cinematic experience will take audiences on a unique visual journey beginning at Middlesbrough Town Hall. The event seamlessly blends cinema, photography, and outdoor arts to narrate this one-of-a-kind story inspired by the town's diverse community.

Exclusively in Middlesbrough on Sunday 29th September 2024 as part of Middlesbrough Art Week at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

This project is part of the #66 project run by Eden Arts and funded by Arts Council England and Middlesbrough Council.
