Co-ordinated by Eden Arts, C-Art promotes and celebrates Cumbria’s rich creative talent, inviting visitors to step into the gallery and the landscape to buy art, explore the landscape and to meet the artists themselves. The open studios event won the Tourism Event of the Year Award from Cumbria Tourism in 2014 and continues to grow each year.
For the past 6 years, C-Art has connected over 185,000 visitors to Cumbrian artists, and has seen over £665,000 in sales of Cumbrian art.
C-Art 2017 features the following;
Cumbrian Artist of the Year exhibition and awards – This year, sees the third Cumbrian Artist of the Year Award….
The exhibition is held at Rheged’s main gallery between 9th September and 5th November 2017. A panel made up of arts professionals and a group of Young Curators, by application, will select a short-list of work which forms the body of the exhibition. The competition aims to set a very high standard and celebrate the wealth of creative contemporary talent in Cumbria.
Young Cumbrian Artist of the Year – 2017 exhibition will take place at University of Cumbria’s Vallum Gallery in November.

C-Art Everywhere – A new weekend long event to run alongside the C-Art Cumbrian Artist of the Year Award exhibition in Rheged in September. The event will include pop-up galleries in empty shops and businesses from artists and groups and a large arts and crafts fair.
