Finalists | Get Shirty | Sarah Diante

Sarah Diante

Sarah Diante, of Macclesfield, said: “The inspiration came from wanting to highlight aspects of Hartlepool that should make the locals and the women's rugby team proud.” The centre piece of Sarah’s design is the stag; “taken from the “Hart” in Hartlepool). It stands for the team’s strength, agility, and speed, a fierce force to be reckoned with on the field. The stag has angel wings, soaring upwards with a sense of freedom that speaks to the limitless potential of the team. The wings are a tribute to the Angel of the North (which was actually built in Hartlepool).

When asked how she felt about being shortlisted Sarah said “I feel honoured to be a finalist and am delighted if my art can bring joy to others. It also makes me proud to share my art on a platform that ultimately helps to advance women in sports”.
